| Technology description including background system | The dataset includes the model of the production 1 ton of cast iron raw casting with a rotary furnace and green sand casting. Within the upstream processes, the following raw materials, auxiliary and chemicals for melting, moulding and casting are considered: Pig-iron production and supply, iron scrap supply, fluxing agents production and supply, refractory materials production and supply, silica sand production and supply, bentonite production and supply, coal dust production and supply, resins and catalyst production and supply. Within the core processes, the following processes are considered: electricity consumption for melting, moulding, casting and others foundry activities (e.g. compressors, gas cleaning systems, etc.), natural gas consumption for melting, moulding, casting and others foundry activities (e.g. compressors, gas cleaning systems, etc.), coke consumption for melting, water consumption for melting, moulding and casting, air emissions for melting, moulding, casting and waste generation for melting, moulding, casting. Downstream processes such as further finishing activities, distribution to customers, use phase and end-of-life treatment of used products are excluded. |
