General comment on data set Dataset developed within the ARCADIA project in the context of the Ph.D. of Federica Carollo (Politecnico di Milano). The dataset relates to the landfilling of 1 kg of mixed construction and demolition (C&D) waste (EWC 17 09 04) in Italy. The original dataset " Inert waste {CH}| treatment of, sanitary landfill | Cut-off, U (Ecoinvent 3.3)" was modified as follows: it was added some site-specific values concerning an Italian inert landfill (taken from Blengini and Garbarino, 2010) (Process: Inert landfill operativity, Lombardy Region)

Technological representativeness
Technology description including background system An existing Ecoinvent 3.3 process was used for the modelling of landfill disposal of inert C&D waste (and also of waste from C&D processing in mobile plants), which simulates the disposal in landfills of waste containing only cement (a hypothesis that also reflects the actual situation, as the most significant percentage of waste disposed of, is made up of cement scraps); such process includes the production of leachate, containing the polluting compounds that derive from the leaching following contact of the disposed waste with rainwater that infiltrates the storage. The default process has been partially modified to adapt it to the context of the disposal of C&D in Lombardia using the literature data of Blengini et al., 2012. Good the Reliability; Very Good the Geographical representativeness; Very Good the Time representativeness; Very Good the Technological representativeness.
