General comment on data set Dataset developed within the ARCADIA project in the context of the Ph.D. of Federica Carollo (Politecnico di Milano). The dataset relates to the recycling of 1 kg of gypsum-based materials. The dataset is composed of 6-unit processes: 1) Avoided production of thermomechanical pulp; 2) Avoided production of natural gypsum for sludge use (Process: Natural gypsum, sludge use); 3) Diesel consumption; 4) Transports; 5) Electricity consumption; 6) Iron and steel recycling (Process: Iron and Steel Recycling, without sorting).

Technological representativeness
Technology description including background system The treatment gives gypsum powder with a particle size distribution from 8 mm to 0.063 mm. The overall mass balance of the plant is: - 83.9% powdered gypsum, which is exclusively intended for use in the production of defecation gypsum in place of natural gypsum. The substitution ratio is 1:0.9. - 15.2% of cellulosic waste is derived from the separation of cardboard. The separated paper is sent to the nearest paper mill, where it will be used in place of thermomechanical virgin pulp, depending on the quality of the separated flow (98.7%) and the substitution ratio (1: 0.833). - 0.02% ferrous metals. The ferrous metals are sent directly to the steel mill, without any intermediate selection step, to produce secondary steel, which will be used in place of primary steel. - 0.88% process losses (which are not modeled). Good the Reliability; Very Good the Geographical representativeness; Very Good the Time representativeness; Very Good the Technological representativeness.
